Uffizi State Street Initiative

State Street in many ways is the life center of downtown Santa Barbara.  It is the great mixing place of the sub-cultures of our city.  We have just started a gathering at a local hang out spot – Elsie’s Tavern.  Elsie’s is located at 117 West De La Guerra Street.  I am there with a community of friends every Wednesday night at 7pm.

Our goal at Elsie’s is like our other initiatives – to build friendships within the night life culture of our city.  We want to be able to express the identity of Jesus to those who will not normally enter “church culture.”  Of course we will enjoy a beer with our friends at Elsie’s Tavern.

Soon we will develop a church plant within another local spot on State Street.  The Uffizi Mission is partnering with other friends working with Christian Asscociates International on this venture.

Holy Chaos – a new community with our Friends without Homes currently meets at the Loft, located at 821 State Street.  This community meets on Sundays at 2pm, and we are discerning how to create community with our friends.  You can join us!
